The SOLO taxonomy as a model for learning was found to improve the quality of learning. The objectives were to compare three educational taxonomies--namely, the Structure of the Observed Learning Outcomes (SOLO) taxonomy, Bloom's taxonomy and reflective thinking measurement model--and to test the application value of these taxonomies. "The SOLO taxonomy is a model that describes levels of increasing complexity in students’ thinking and understanding.
